Your Guide To AMI ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") is a free travel reference and concierge tool for visitors to Anna Maria Island, Florida. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use the App, how it is used, and your choices regarding that information.

By using the App you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use.

The App does not require you to create an account, register, or provide any personal information to use its core features. You can browse beach conditions, tide tables, dining listings, the fishing guide, wildlife guide, shell guide, trolley schedules, and all other content without identifying yourself in any way.

3.1 Information You Provide

The App does not include any forms, sign-up flows, or input fields that collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or payment details. We do not collect any personal information directly from you.

3.2 Automatically Collected Usage Data (Google Analytics)

The App uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the App in aggregate. GA4 automatically collects:

• Pages and sections viewed
• Buttons and outbound links clicked (e.g., "Book on Viator," "Reserve on OpenTable")
• Approximate geographic location (city/region level — derived from IP address)
• Device type, operating system, and browser
• Session duration and general engagement metrics

This data is collected anonymously and in aggregate. We do not use GA4 to identify individual users. Google's data practices are governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or use the in-app toggle in Section 7 below.

3.3 Device Location (Optional)

The Trolley Tracker section includes an optional "Find Nearest Stop" feature. If you tap this button, the App will request access to your device's location via the standard browser or operating system permission prompt. Location access is:

• Requested only when you explicitly tap the button
• Used solely to identify the nearest trolley stop on your screen
• Never stored, transmitted to our servers, or shared with any third party
• Entirely optional — all other features work without location access

You can revoke location permission at any time in your device or browser settings.

3.4 Local Storage (On-Device Only)

The App stores a small amount of data in your browser's localStorage — a standard web storage mechanism that keeps data on your device only and is never transmitted to any server. This includes:

The App displays content sourced from and links to third-party services. When you click an outbound link, you leave the App and are subject to that service's own privacy policy. The third-party services referenced in the App include:

Affiliate disclosure: The App contains affiliate links to Viator and OpenTable. If you click a link and make a booking, we may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. Clicking these links does not cause us to receive any personal information about you.

The App includes a Virtual Assistant powered by a combination of a local knowledge base and an AI language model. When you ask the Virtual Assistant a question:

• The App first attempts to answer from its own built-in knowledge base (restaurant listings, fishing regulations, trolley schedules, etc.) without sending any data externally.
• If the knowledge base does not contain a suitable answer, your question text is sent to Anthropic (the maker of the Claude AI) via their API to generate a response.
• Questions sent to Anthropic are processed under Anthropic's Privacy Policy. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train its models by default.
• We do not log or store the content of your Virtual Assistant queries on our servers beyond what is necessary to generate the response.
• Do not enter personal information (name, address, payment details) into the Virtual Assistant.

Anthropic retains API request data for up to 30 days for trust and safety purposes per their standard API terms. For details, see the Anthropic Privacy Policy.

The App is a general-audience travel reference tool and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us at [email protected] and we will take steps to delete it.

Because the App does not collect or transmit personal information to our servers, the security risk to your personal data from using this App is minimal. All data stored locally (localStorage) remains on your device and is subject to your device's own security. We recommend keeping your device's operating system and browser up to date.

You have the following controls over data related to your use of the App:

• Location: Deny or revoke location permission in your device or browser settings at any time.
• Local storage: Clear all App data by clearing your browser's site data or local storage for this site.
• Cookies: The App itself does not set tracking cookies. Third-party services (Google, Viator, OpenTable) may set their own cookies when you visit their sites via outbound links.
• Virtual Assistant: Simply do not use the Virtual Assistant feature if you prefer that no query text be sent to Anthropic.

California residents (CCPA): We do not sell personal information. Because we do not collect personal information directly, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete on our end. For data held by Google Analytics, please refer to Google's privacy controls. To request deletion of any data we may hold, email [email protected].

EEA / UK residents (GDPR): The App is operated from the United States and is intended for visitors to Anna Maria Island, Florida. If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, please note that the App does not collect personal data directly. Any analytics data processed by Google is subject to Google's GDPR compliance commitments.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
